PokéDex Entry: "Garlape are very gentle Pokémon. The rosary around their neck is made of pure spiritual energy, they use it to capture evil spirits."
Evolution: Evolves from l0kiice.deviantart.com/art/2sp… when leveled up with a Ghost-type in the party

Enter Garlape, unsurprisingly the evoltuion of Skelbidae. These big apes lug around at their own pace, which is usually set to slow. But what are you gonna' do when your necklace is filled to the brim with malevolent ghosts, TRAPPED malevolent ghosts no less? Thusly, our Silverback friend has quite the low Speed-stat. But that's okay because Garlape sure makes up for it with power and stamina! You see those Popeye-arms? They're just not for show, buddy. Besides, this big lug may be peaceful, but don't think that it can't smash you seven ways 'til Sunday if the occasion calls for it. With Ghosts trapped in the rosary around its neck, Garlape can bend them to its will, giving it new and frightening powers that it didn't have access to as a Skelbidae. Will-O-Wisp is one of the more prominent ones, flicking ghosts at the target and burning them in the process is something Garlape is quite skilled as. Coating its hands in some of that bad ghost-mojo to slash away with a Shadow Claw is also pretty beneficial. Garlapes are mainly used by monks or exorcists for their ability to capture evil spirits, it is said that the more spirits they have, the stronger they get, granted that they can keep the spirits in check, that is.

Garlape's name is derived from the words 'garland' and 'ape'. Ape, unsuprisingly comes from, well, a monkey that isn't really a monkey, because it's and ape. That explanation wasn't bad at all, no, no, no. Garland comes from (no, it's not from Final Fantasy, smarty-pants) the word rosarium, which is latin for rosary and means "garland of roses". I can't seem to recall where the idea for Garlape and Skelbidae came from other than that I really like monkeys and apes. They're cool, yo.
